I never played the Caro-Kann in my youth, and now I question that choice. Matt makes the Caro crystal clear, and honestly, it's hard to go wrong. I highly recommend this course if you are looking for new openings for Black. You will not be disappointed.

Instructor & YouTuber
Jd started playing chess when he was five and remembers losing his first game despite having to point out the checkmate to his dad who has never beaten him since. From there he has gone on the play and study consistently for 33 years, including a few fine tournament wins. (You'd think he would have a higher peak than 2172 on Chess.com by this point.) He started coaching 6 years ago where his proudest accomplishment to date is coaching the Jamaican u10 girls champion. He loves the Queen's Gambit which inspired the 1.d4 course which he begged Matt to build to solve his indecision problems when facing anything other than 1...d5. In the rare moments when not playing chess, you are likely to find him in the middle of an ultramarathon, adventure race, or falling asleep at the paddle during his 40th straight hour in a canoe.
